The Museum site, formerly the Alexander Family Farm, was settled in 1836 by Scottish immigrants. Four generations of the Alexander Family farmed the land until 1961. The Alexander Farm was one of the first electrically powered farms in Southern Ontario.
The Halton Region Museum is dedicated to recording, preserving and communicating the story of Halton and its people. Halton Region's rich history began over 400 million years ago, when it was the bed of a tropical sea known as the Michigan Basin.
